Dear Sts. Cyril and Methodius Parishioners,
Glory to Jesus Christ!
Our Holy Father, Pope Francis, has called for a reinvigoration of the Synodal Process throughout the Universal Church.  The intent of the Synodal Process is to provide bottom-up feedback from lay-people to better inform our Church’s decision-making processes, from the local level all the way to the Magisterium.  The requested feedback covers all aspects of the Church and the life of the Church.

As part of this effort, our Bishop Kurt has asked each parish to have its parishioners complete a survey and take part in a Listening Session (see attached letter from Bishop Kurt).  Our parish council will compile the collected feedback, both from the questionnaires and Listening Sessions, and put it into a document that will be submitted to the Syncellus, who in turn will submit a report to the Eparchy.  Our Eparchy will submit a report to the Archeparchy, who in-turn will submit a report to the Holy Father.

The Parish Council is requesting that each adult parishioner complete the attached questionnaire as well as take part in one of the below four listening sessions:
6 April – after Pre-sanctified Liturgy
8 April – after Pre-sanctified Liturgy
10 April – after 9:00 Liturgy (Religious Education Day, parents can attend while children are in classes)
10 April – after 11:00 Liturgy

Each Listening Session will be facilitated by 2-3 members of the Parish Council and will take place in the Church building.  We highly encourage all parishioners to attend one of the Listening Sessions.  Each parishioner should bring their completed questionnaire with them, with either hand-written or typed responses being acceptable (questionnaires do not need names or signatures to maintain anonymity).  If for whatever reason a parishioner cannot attend a Listening Session, they can email their questionnaire to the parish email address and their responses will be included when compiling our parish report.

Below are two links for more information on the Church’s Synodal Process.  This is an important new initiative from our Holy Father, and is an opportunity for you to provide input that will inform our Church’s decision making, please do not take this lightly!  Thank you in advance for your support for this important effort!

Very respectfully,
Fr. Vasyl Sokolovych
