St. Nicholas European Christmas Market

What started out as a small fund raiser for our parish has grown into a very popular community event that attracts visitors from across the Triangle and beyond. Held on our parish grounds the past nine years, the Market has outgrown our venue! This year we’ll be at the Holshauser Building at the State Fairgrounds with plenty of free parking. We’ve been featured in “Our State” magazine as a unique Christmas experience in North Carolina and have thousands following our Facebook page.
Our Annual St. Nicholas European Christmas Market features food, decorative items, vintage linens, and handmade gifts celebrating the true meaning of Christmas around the world. Done in the tradition of a European Christmas Market, shoppers can visit each country (Poland, Ukraine, Slovakia, Germany, Scandinavia, Italy, and Ireland) as well as our many popup vendors. Look for items like Matroyshka dolls, Polish pottery, hand-carved canes and hand-knit items from Ukraine, Czech crystal, cashmere scarves from Scotland, German beer steins, and tapestries and gnomes from Scandinavia – unique items you won’t find anywhere else that make treasured keepsakes or welcomed gifts. Friday evening features caroling, Irish Step Dancers, and a visit from the real St. Nicholas. Enjoy a Slavic lunch while listening to the Little German Band on Saturday. Take home delicious baked goods, dozens of piroghi, and pounds of kielbasa as well. Don’t miss the Market; let us be part of your holiday tradition.
